The Christian Experiment

Dear Jesse,

This “open letter” is about a free, simple, and easy opportunity to help distribute Bibles to our persecuted brothers and sisters.

Will you consider this opportunity?

While this “open letter” is in particular addressed to Jesse Speaks, it’s ultimately addressed to every Christian (“There is strength in numbers, but organizing those numbers is one of the great challenges” – John C. Mather).

In 2 Corinthians 8:1-5, we see Christians in great affliction and in extreme poverty who went to great length to help other Christians who were in need.

What if you could easily and freely help your brothers and sisters in Christ, would you do so?

That’s what The Christian Experiment is all about.

What does The Christian Experiment actually look like behind the scenes?

In this video, I take you behind the scenes to show how I’m trying to put the principle of Galatians 6:10 into practice.

The goal is simple but ambitious: to help distribute 100,000 Bibles to our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Christian Experiment asks a simple question: If you could easily and freely help your brothers and sisters in Christ, would you do so?

This video gives you a closer look at what I’m doing, how I’m reaching out to other Christians, and why I believe even one person choosing to help can make a difference.

This isn’t about criticizing Christians who don’t participate, pressuring anyone, or putting anyone on the spot. It’s an experiment in Christian love, opportunity, and action—an attempt to see what might happen when believers are simply invited to help other believers who desperately need access to God’s Word.

Every Bible matters. Every person who helps matters. And every opportunity to do good is worth considering.

If this resonates with you, please consider sharing The Christian Experiment with someone else. You never know who might see it, respond, and help place another Bible into the hands of a persecuted Christian.

In Genesis 11:6, God says of the people at Babel, “Behold, they are one people… And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.”

This video takes a behind-the-scenes look at The Christian Experiment and asks us to consider a simple but powerful biblical principle: what can happen when many people act together toward one purpose? The Christian Experiment is built around a very simple idea. Individual actions may seem small, but when Christians participate together, those small actions can multiply into something far greater. A single person sharing a link may not seem significant. But what if hundreds, thousands, or even millions of Christians did the same thing?

In this video, we look at the potential reach represented by Christian audiences and consider what even a very small response could mean for the distribution of Bibles. The numbers discussed are not predictions or guarantees. They are meant to illustrate the extraordinary potential that already exists when Christians use the influence, audiences, relationships, and opportunities God has given them.

Genesis 11:6 provides a striking picture of what people can accomplish when they are united. The Christian Experiment asks a different question: What could happen if Christians intentionally used that same principle of collective action for the glory of Christ and for the good of their brothers and sisters?

You do not need an enormous platform. You do not need to make a large financial commitment. You may simply be able to share something with the people God has already placed within your reach.

One Christian. One simple action. Then another. And another.

What might God be pleased to accomplish through thousands of seemingly small acts of Christian participation?

Dear Franklin,

This “open letter” is about a free, simple, and easy opportunity to help distribute Bibles to our persecuted brothers and sisters.

Will you consider this opportunity?

Just by creating awareness, if only 1% of your Facebook followers were to participate in this Bible fundraiser, you would help distribute 55,000 Bibles.

While this “open letter” is in particular addressed to Franklin Graham, it’s ultimate addressed to every Christian (“There is strength in numbers, but organizing those numbers is one of the great challenges” – John C. Mather).

What does The Christian Experiment have in common with the former AmazonSmile?

In both cases, there’s an incredible opportunity to reach and help more people, including by just creating awareness.

The Christian Experiment will be conducted through a series of open letters presented as video messages.

These messages will be sent to Christians, churches, ministries, Christian organizations, and Christian media outlets, encouraging them to use their God-given influence to create awareness of a Bible fundraiser for our persecuted brothers and sisters.

The experiment will document whether recipients choose to participate by creating awareness of the fundraiser.

When a recipient provides a reason for declining, that reason will be included as part of the results.

If there is no response to the initial video message, one follow-up will be sent.

The background of The Christian Experiment can be traced, in part, to a simple idea demonstrated by the former AmazonSmile.

Any charitable organization could easily and freely register for AmazonSmile, and anyone who purchased on Amazon could easily and freely select their preferred nonprofit as the recipient of the 0.5 percent for all qualifying purchases.

The Christian Experiment presents something similar but better.
