How do I know that 75% royalty will go to the featured ministry when I purchase one of your books?
In order to safeguard myself and have proper accountability, there are three independent overseers. They have full access to my book sales accounts. The overseers receive screen shots of all sold books after the promotional period has ended. They will also receive a picture of the check when it’s sent by certified mail. In case of a credit card payment, they will receive a picture of the confirmation. Also, the ministry or individual will receive a signed and dated statement, confirming the promotional period and my commitment to pay the royalty to the ministry.
When will the royalties be paid?
They will be paid within fourteen days upon receiving all the royalties from Amazon and CreateSpace.
Why don’t you offer 100% royalty of your books sales?
As an author, I also would like to have supplemental income and I’m responsible for all taxes. I believe the Lord put it on my heart to set it up as a 75-25% royalty split. The ministry receives the 75%. I offer an affordable Christ-centered book to the buyer, while also blessing the cause of Christ at the same time.
Do I have to be a 501(c)(3) in order to participate?
No, any entity or individual that furthers the gospel is eligible to partner with The Cause of Christ. However, there may be a “tax fee” since the donation isn’t tax-exempt. The “tax fee” is considered on a case by case basis and is solely related to the taxes that I have to pay.
Why the minimum of a 250 person email list and/or social media following?
In ministry every dollar counts; there’s not a contribution that’s too small. The poor widow “has put in more than all of them” (Luke 21:1-4). I have set the 250 person email list/followers as a minimum in order not to send a few dollars here and there. Furthermore, the 250 person audience can be combined accounts. For example, if two or three members of a small church have combined Facebook accounts of over 250 friends, they will qualify.
Can I also participate if my ministry is outside the United States?
Yes, as long as you have a PayPal account. Instead of receiving the 75% royalty by check or credit card payment, it will be sent through PayPal. Proper verification of the ministry will be required. If you’re interested, please contact me. However, there may be a “tax fee” since the donation isn’t tax exempt. What about book translations?
If your ministry is outside the United States and/or your audience speaks another language, I suggest considering professionally translating one of my books. Once finished and approved, I will upload it to Amazon. You can then use that book in your language and receive the 75% royalty. I believe the time and cost to offset the translation will be easily covered by the royalty, as long as you have a significant audience. If you’re interested, please contact me.
Can I request more than a one week period?
While you cannot increase it to more than one week, you can request another week once every six months. There may be a limit to how many times you can request a promotional week, depending on the number of requests. At the author’s discretion, a one week period can be increased indefinitely.
Is this a temporary or permanent promotion?
It’s a permanent promotion of all my books, both current and upcoming ones.
