The Cause of Christ presents
BIBLE AID
They came together to help feed the hungry.
Let’s come together to help share the Bread of Life.
In 1985, Live Aid brought artists together in London and Philadelphia for famine relief. Today, Christians can come together to help meet another urgent need: God’s Word for our persecuted brothers and sisters who long for their own Bible.
Two ways to help. One shared goal: 100,000 Bibles. An example worth considering
Two continents. A shared response.
They used the stage they had.
We can use the influence we have.
On July 13, 1985, Live Aid’s concerts at Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia brought the secular music world together to raise money and awareness for famine relief in Africa. Artists put their voices, audiences, and influence to work for people in need.
That example challenges us as Christians. If artists could unite across two continents to help people receive physical food, shouldn’t we be willing to unite to help our persecuted brothers and sisters receive spiritual food?
Our reason reaches deeper than a historical example. Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us. His grace moves us to love those who belong to Him—and to care whether they can read His Word.
Historical background: Wembley Stadium’s account of Live Aid. Bible Aid is an independent initiative of The Cause of Christ, inspired by that example; it is not affiliated with Live Aid.
The need behind Bible Aid
We can open a Bible whenever we want.
Many fellow believers cannot.
Behind that number are fellow believers who want their own copy of God’s Word. The barriers include persecution and restrictions, as well as poverty, distance, and shortages. Bible Aid invites us to respond by helping the Bible fundraiser reach more people—and by participating ourselves.
Some Christians live where owning, distributing, or obtaining a Bible is banned, restricted, or dangerous. Others cannot obtain a personal copy. The Scriptures we can so easily take for granted may be the very treasure they have been longing to receive.
God’s Word reveals Jesus Christ—His life, His death for sinners, and His resurrection. Through Scripture, believers hear His promises, grow in the knowledge of Him, and find strength to persevere. Helping someone receive a Bible helps place that spiritual nourishment within reach.
